Andie MacDowell was born as one of four daughters in Gaffney. When she was six years old, her parents divorced. Her mother suffered as a result of depression and alcoholism.
MacDowell visited a college until 1978, when she decided to leave it and to New York to go. There, she joined a modeling agency to work as a model. One of her outstanding work was for the cosmetics and haircare company L’Oreal , with which it is still in touch. A series of television commercials for Calvin Klein earned her attention and led to her 1984 film debut in Greystoke – The Legend of Tarzan, the Ape Man . It was a good start, even if the producers decided their text by Glenn Close to be synchronized, because her southern accent did not match the British aristocrat, she had to play. In 1985, she had a small role in St. Elmo’s Fire , but her film career seemed to be over. Four years later, however, she took her acting career with great success again: Steven Soderbergh shot it with his first feature film: sex, lies and videotape .
Her biggest hit was the 1993 comedy twisted And Groundhog Day by Harold Ramis . In addition, she is mostly known for her roles in Green Card (1990), Short Cuts (1993) and Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994).
Andie MacDowell was three-time Golden Globe nominee. In German, it is of Evelyn Maron and Ulrike Moeckel synchronized.
MacDowell married 1986 Paul Qualley, whom she was divorced from 1999th From this marriage a son and two daughters. Rhett DeCamp Hartzog 2001, she married a businessman from Atlanta . But this marriage failed after nearly three years. Since 2006 she has been with the businessman Kevin Geagan from North Carolina together.
