Alison Doody (* November 11 1966 in Dublin ) is an Irish actress .Doody was born the youngest of three children. Her parents are Joan Doody, a Schönheitschirugin and Patrick Doody, a farmer. It was during a photo shoot and discovered initially began as a model to work, increasing their visibility and their entry into the movie business made it possible.
One of her first gigs was Doody in a 1985 supporting role in the Bond film A View to a Death ( A View to a Kill ). The following year she appeared in other film productions and played among other things on the side of acting greats like Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan . Her big break came in 1989 with the Steven Spielberg movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade , where they next actor Harrison Ford took over the lead female role of Dr. Elsa Schneider. Other well-known roles they played in the Anne Marie Athos were Ring of the Musketeers (1992) and in the remake Quartermain Allan Quatermain and King Solomon’s Mines (2004) as Elizabeth Maitland alongside Patrick Swayze .
Erfolgsregiesseur Peter Jackson Doody also offered the role of Eowyn in his Lord of the Rings trilogy in which she declined, however, because of their pregnancy at the time. The role eventually went to the Australian Miranda Otto .
Doody married in 1994 the businessman Gavin O’Reilly , the son of Tony O’Reilly . From this marriage she has two daughters. In 2004, the two parted again.
